New Wood Phone Cases!

I'm really excited about these new phone cases! I've been watching and waiting before promoting them to see how they would do, and so far they are doing awesome and are getting excellent reviews. They are available on 3 types of wood: maple, cherry, or walnut. All of the phones seen below are maple wood. The cherry wood has a red tint, and the walnut wood is dark. Each case is individually handmade by artisans in the USA and the images are UV printed onto the wood. You can choose between a slim case and a more protective bumper case. Cases are available for iPhone 6, 5, and 4 as well as Samsung S5 and S4. You can find them all in my Zazzle store! xoxo bgj

Little Woolf Modern Baby Bedding

Little Woolf Organic Baby Bedding is making quite a splash in the Etsy world and I am so honored that owner/creator Lindsay Woolf has chosen some of my fabric designs for her modern and trendy baby bedding line! All of her creations are super-cute and just what any modern day trendy mom is looking for. No blah baby designs-only bold, fun, and adventuresome designs here!

Lindsay has one of the most interesting "about" pages on Etsy. Here is what is says...

Once upon a time there was a Little Woolf. This Little Woolf was very adventurous. She had so much energy and so much to do everyday often times she would not want to go to her crib. To Little Woolf bedtime was boring, there was nothing to see and no adventures to be had.

Outside of bed there were oceans and jungles and woods and animals and gardens and forts- of course Little Woolf didn't want to go to bed. Until one day everything changed...

Little Woolf and her best friend Reggie (a hedgehog) were scavenging the den looking for materials to build a fort. They took blankets from the beds. They took pillows from the couches and emptied out the linens from the closet. They even found Mama Woolf's sewing chest full of colorful fabrics. They used blue fabric to line the bottom of the fort to make the floor to look like the ocean. They used red for the ceiling which looked like the sunset and they used a floral print for their island. The island was a very comfortable place to lay down.

So they did.

and they slept.

Usually when Little Woolf finally crashed out in forts and messes she would wake up back in her boring bed, the forts would be put away, and she would scream to get out and back to adventures.

This time was different.

Mama saw the fort Little Woolf and Reggie slept in. This gave Mama an idea.

"What if?” - Mama Woolf dashed off to get to work.

In Little Woolf's sleep she had a dream and in her dream she heard a sound.... The sound of her Mama Woolf hard at work on the sewing machines.

While Little Woolf slept, Mama did her best to recreate the fun of the fort. She made bright puffy pillows, colorful sheets, blankets with all sorts of designs. She did everything she could to make the crib more interesting.

When Little Woolf and Reggie first opened their eyes, they found themselves back in the bedroom… and back in the crib.

BUT it was beautiful and amazing. The bottom of the bed once again looked like the ocean, the blanket they were on looked like the islands, and their pillows looked like clouds. Mama Woolf had done it! With the artistic inspiration of Little Woolf and Reggie she created an adventure.

Little Woolf and Mama spent that afternoon reading books in the new bed, and that night Little Woolf was excited to get back to sleep.

What would Mama transform the bed to next?

I don't know about you, but I totally love that, so pleeeease go check out this hard working momma's awesome creations! (Bonus: She's having a sale right now!!!)

Little Indians Fabric Collection

I had so much fun working on this collection and I am so happy to now be able to share it with you guys! The full "Little Indians" collection has 26 coordinating patterns as well as 3 cut & sew animals ( the bear, the bird, and the squirrel) and a cut & sew teepee. The colors are bright, cheerful, and gender neutral with many dark gray and cream coordinating patterns for striking contrast. I'm having trouble picking my favorite combinations! This is my very first children's collection on Spoonflower. Although it's technically a children's collection, most of the coordinating patterns are very versatile and can be used for a variety of projects. They are not exclusively for children! This collection can be used in so many ways-I can't wait to start seeing what people use the patterns for! You can see a sampling of the collection below, but to see the full collection please visit my Spoonflower shop!

October 2014 Desktop Calendar

October's desktop calendar is ready and it features one of the many coordinating patterns from my upcoming "Little Indians" fabric collection. This pattern is a fun and simple dark gray and cream arrow pattern. Although "Little Indians" is technically a children's collection, many of the coordinating patterns are very versatile and can be used for just about anything. You will start to see some of them on my other products such as phone cases in the near future. I finished the "Little Indians" collection about a week ago and have all of the patterns uploaded to Spoonflower. I've ordered swatches and as soon as they arrive and I see that everything looks good as far as the printing then this collection will be available.

I hope that you all enjoy this arrow pattern for the month of October. To download the calendar, simply click on the image to enlarge it to full size and then copy it over to your desktop. Please remember that calendars are for personal use only. Enjoy!!! and Happy Fall!!!  xoxo -bgj

Tribal Triangles Fabric Collection

I'm rolling out a brand new fabric collection on Spoonflower-This one is "Tribal Triangles". There are 12 coordinating tribal designs in this collection for some great mixing and matching. The main elements are triangles and zigzags with a few tiny spotted stripes. The colorway includes cream, dark gray, antique yellow, muted antique yellow, dark raspberry, and lavender. I've done something new for this collection due to many requests from past collections. I've included all of the main colors as an option to purchase as a solid color in order to have that as an option for all of your fabulous creations that require a matching solid for liners, etc. I know it can be quite difficult to find an exact color match for my designs unless I provide that exact color for you. I want to provide the very best for my customers so please always feel free to contact me with suggestions and requests. I am always happy to listen and help a customer in need. xoxo -bgj

Side note: I have quite a few repeat customers that create products with my fabrics and sell on Etsy. If you are one of those customers, please contact me! I'm wanting to do a special blog post within the next couple of months that highlights some of you guys and your amazing stores! I've seen some of your creations and love them!!!

September 2014 Desktop Calendar

Well, hello September! This is one of my favorite months because the hot weather starts cooling off in preparation for Fall (my favorite season!) AND it's my birthday month! This year is a big one too... I really don't feel like I'm turning 40, but I am! Maybe it's because I'm so young at heart ;) Anyways, I'm embracing it. There's a quote I saw on Pinterest awhile back ago that's really stuck with me. It said, "growing older is a privilege denied to many". I'm going to keep reminding myself of that. I plan on loving every minute of my forties! :)

September's desktop calendar features the main pattern from my newest upcoming fabric collection, "Tribal Triangles". It will be available on Spoonflower very very soon!

Blooming Mandala Boho Pillows

Confession: I made these pillow designs for my own living room. I've been wanting to switch out the pillows on my couch for quite a while, so I finally made some designs for it! I started redecorating my kitchen and living room last year and have never finished the final touches. These pillows are going to look great! The turquoise matches my kitchen cabinets which are quite visible from my living room, and the coral matches my living room walls. I love adding extra colors to a room with pillows, so I've thrown in some purple and indigo and green. Now, all I need to do is decorate my walls and find a few plants I won't kill ;)

I hope you guys love these pillows too because I've put them in my Zazzle store!

Duvet Covers on Society 6!

Starting today, Society 6 now has duvet covers!!! This is so exciting! I have a variety of designs on Society 6 that are available as duvet covers and I will be adding more soon. If I have a design that you like on Society 6 and it's not available as a duvet cover, please check my designs on Kess InHouse. It is probably a design that I licensed to them and therefore it will not be an option on Society 6 as a duvet cover. If you can't find it there either, it is probably on their "to do" list and will be available soon. Please note that for all of my Society 6 designs, as well as my Spoonflower fabric designs, I am always happy to customize colors. If you see something you like but need different colors please don't hesitate to ask. I am happy to make custom color adjustments! (

see you soon! xoxo -bgj

"Bohemia" Fabric Collection

My latest fabric collection "Bohemia" is ready for the world! It's now available for the public in my Spoonflower shop. There are officially 10 coordinating designs in this collection that are perfectly designed for mixing and matching. They feature rich golden yellows, deep fuchsia, coral, spring green, a creamy pale yellow, and baby blue. I created this color palette specifically for bohemian appeal. The main pattern for the collection seen on the top left is available to purchase through Kess InHouse as a lovely duvet cover. I think all of the coordinating patterns would make some awesome throw pillows to cover that boho bedding! I've got more fabric coming very soon so keep an eye out for it too!

Hello everyone! I'm getting ready to go on vacation so I'm posting this calendar a little early so it will be here around the 1st for those who come looking for it ;) I chose this pattern because the colors make me think of the ocean-which is where I'm going-St. Pete, Florida to be exact! I've been looking forward to this trip for awhile now because some rest and relaxation are very much needed!

I hope you all enjoy this calendar as well as the month of July! Please remember that calendar artwork is for personal use only.

One for the Beach-One for the Gym...

So, I really really love these new bags from Zazzle! I got 2 for myself and I think they're going to be so  great for Summer! At 16.25" X 19.25" they are quite spacious and the nylon fabric will make them a breeze to wipe clean. As always, Zazzle did a fabulous job printing the designs. I've ordered quite a few things from Zazzle and have never been disappointed. (btw-their mouse pads are awesome-nice and thick and smooth like silk) The colors are vibrant and true to the design. Production and shipping was super fast. They arrived in about a week. AND they are totally affordable at only $16.95 each. I really think these bags are gonna be a hit!  xoxo -bgj

That is the greatest compliment in the world :) The calendar will be coming soon... either tomorrow or Saturday. No wonder my Claritan wasn't making me feel much better! Anyways, I have the proper medicine now so I should be feeling much better soon. "Gypsyland" Collection

I've got a brand new colorful fabric collection available on Spoonflower! You may recognize the first pattern as the one I used for April's desktop calendar. It's been a very popular desktop so you guys must like it :) As I mentioned before, this collection was inspired by the vibrant colors found in India. I love the way they use intense yellow, orange, and pink on so many Indian patterns and textiles. I wanted to mimic that look in this collection and give it my special bohemian gypsy jane twist. If you end up making something with one or more of these designs I would love to hear from you! Send your images to me at

Announcing... Brand new and fabulous Bohemian Gypsy Jane backpack designs! It's so weird how this happened: I was just dreaming and imagining designing some boho backpacks...because how cool would that be?!? But, how to make that a reality was eluding me. Then, as if by fate, I got an email from the VP of Marketing at Skyou-a company that manufactures backpacks (among other things) stating that he ran across this very website and that they would love to work with me! How could I say no? I think the universe was giving me an answer to my backpack designing desire :) So, needless to say, I'm excited to be working with them and I've already got a few backpacks for sale! Running Love!

I'm so happy to be integrating some fitness inspiration into my design work this year! Since I really, really, really love running I've started out with a t-shirt that is perfect for all you girls that love to run too. The design is pure typography with an excerpt from the dictionary citing the definition of run. It's a fun yet simple design. Currently there is a colorful trend in fitness wear, so I chose 6 trendy colors: orange, yellow, gray, pink, purple, and green. I am VERY picky when it comes to color choices, so rest assured that I deem all of these t-shirt colors trendy and stylish! But, just in case you want to play around with the t-shirt style and color, I have left the designs customizable. There are literally hundreds of options for you!

I'm looking forward to adding to this collection soon!

Radiant Orchid Color Palettes

Pantone announced a while back ago that Radiant Orchid was their pick for 2014's color of the year and I was so relieved! I wasn't a fan of their pick for last year-Emerald. I think it was too strong, and quite honestly it felt like an unfriendly color to me. I didn't want to surround myself with it the way I do with Radiant Orchid and all the lovely colors that it can be combined with. But, I understand that everyone has their own personal taste when it comes to color. I have always leaned towards the warmer colors of the spectrum. I rarely use greens and blues in my designs because they are my least favorite hues. So... Thank you Pantone for picking a color I don't mind working with this year :)

I've built a few color palettes to share for inspiration. As you can probably tell, I am a big fan of keeping these Radiant Orchid palettes in an analogous color range. I think the pinks and purples can be very stunning together with tiny hints of whispered down grays. I even threw in a couple of blush tones because they add an interesting dynamic to the palettes. Feel free to use any of these palettes, or play with them and modify them to suit your fancy! Enjoy! xoxo -bgj

Kicking Off 2014 With The Law of Attraction!

I have so many design plans in my head for the coming year that I know I can't possibly accomplish them all in the 12 short months that make up a year... So, I've been sorting through my ideas and prioritizing the possibilities. I don't have... nor have I ever adhered to any strict "business plans" (a trait commonly shared among creatives ;) but I try to always have a clear vision in my head of which direction I want to be heading. I still have a few "catch-up" designs to get converted into fabric for Spoonflower, so that will be one priority over the next few months. But, as far as my brand new designs for 2014, I want to create a few more spiritually inspiring designs as well as try out a few fitness and health inspired designs! I'm thinking maybe water bottles and t-shirts and some inspiring iPod cases to carry with you to the gym or wherever you go to exercise! What do you guys think about that? If you follow me on Pinterest, then you know that I'm a fitness nut and that I love yoga and running :) I think it would be wonderful if I could combine my design passion with my health passion! As far as my patterns go, I will simply try to continue to create the aesthetically pleasing and trendy designs that you guys love! But, for my very official very first design of 2014, I wanted to do something with the Law of Attraction to get me off to the perfect start. I love this quote and I try to remind myself of it often. What better way to remind myself than to incorporate it into one of my designs! I hope you guys love it and find it inspiring for the New Year! Let's all make 2014 AMAZING! xoxo -bgj
